OISHĪ DON
OISHĪ DON translates to ‘Delicious Bowl’ and is the foundation of their Japanese inspired rice bowl concept based around Donburi, a popular Japanese comfort food. The brand prides itself on serving up delicious and vibrant rice bowls to the masses, bridging the gap between indulgent and healthy. Their aim is to bring comfort and joy through the flavours and philosophies of Japanese cuisine!

The Founders
OISHĪ DON was founded by Walthamstow couple Shane Mcghie and Liz Pacleb. Shane has extensive kitchen experience honing his skills in restaurants and corporate hospitality catering. He has a huge passion for creating and developing new and exciting food ideas and bringing them to life. Liz has spent 15 years working in music royalties, gaining a wealth of knowledge in business accounting and touring with the likes of Radiohead and Robbie Williams to name a few. Together with their love of travel and food, in 2020, they sought to bring London a unique and exciting offering based around their love of Japan.
The Story
In 2019, Shane and Liz travelled around Japan! Throughout their adventure they met many amazing people, sampled (in their opinion) some of the best food in the world and experienced a one of a kind culture that ignited a passion inside of them.
In the first lockdown of 2020, they were recreating dishes from their travels, after craving a steak don. It became evident that a donburi concept would be a great addition to the street food scene and set about how they would get this idea off the ground.

They launched the brand at a local street food market a few months later and immediately gained a lot of traction. This landed them their first pub residency and gave them the green light to leave their day jobs and take OISHĪ DON to the next level as a full time operation.
